FWIW if the hospital thought what you have is life-threatening (or chronic) they wouldn't have discharged you, so that's a positive.

I would say good luck but in still reeling from your photo vision of me jonesy.....
I was asked to give an update by Gavros so will do it in here and hopefully it will go under the radar except for those who want to know
I got back 2 weeks ago thanks to mark and many others on here. I tapered the booze down within 3 days and stopped on 2nd December.
As some of you know I had a lump on my neck that I was sure was throat cancer in my paranoid state. On 3rd December I went to local GP and was told to go immediately to A&E which I did and was admitted into hospital that very day.
After many many tests and blood taken on an hourly basis, everything from HIV to TB to something simple like mono was ruled out as was throat cancer (Gavros you were right). Unfortunately they knew something was wrong as my GP levels in my blood were sky high and so this was telling them something was wrong.
In the end the only thing they can't exclude is NHL (non hodgkins) and a biopsy was performed last Monday. I was discharged on the Tuesday awaiting the results on Monday 14th. I was discharged with all the paperwork and info regarding NHL so feel that in their opinion it's only going one way.
I still have the lump, it was drained a little for the biopsy but they can't remove it until they know what stage it's at plus its position is resting on an artery.
I have done nothing but think these last two weeks and can't help feeling I deserve this somehow even if only down to my lifestyle.
I find out Monday the seriousness or not of the situation but want it known I ain't going down without a fight and at the very least after Xmas will be focusing on sorting out all that helped me recently and over the years.
I shall try and get to a game over Xmas period to say hello and thank you to those who want to meet.

I wouldn't, your doc should have told you no food or drink 24 hrs before the op. You'll be puking into your oxygen mask!
Definitely no alcohol, keep your body toxin, probably way too late for that I know, but every little helps.
